$10 Adults, $7 Kids – Parking Free
6p-9p Nightly From Late November to Early January
For families in Calgary, the Christmas season wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the Calgary Zoo for their annual Zoolights display.
1.5 million lights are strung around the park turning it into a glowing spectacle. We packed up the wagon, and bundled up the boys for an hour or so walk around the grounds.
Some things to remember: apart from the Conservatory, the gift shop, and the cafeteria, this is an outdoor event so dress accordingly. Evening temperatures in Calgary can drop quickly, so warm clothing is a must.
None of the animal displays are open, so don’t get the kids’ hopes up they’ll see any – this is a walk in the park with light displays.
There are bonfires set up throughout the grounds to warm up, there’s a fun field of snow with hay to toss, puzzles to do, and styrofoam igloos to build. There’s also a video link to Santa for kids to have a chat with the big guy.
Don’t forget your non-perishable food bank donation. Collection bins are located near the Penguin Plunge exhibit and you’ll receive a 2 for 1 admission for a future visit to The Calgary Zoo.
