The Lake Village Bakery in Osoyoos doesn’t open until 9am. That seemed a little late to me. The image one usually has of bakers, is them up in the pre-dawn hours kneading, mixing, blending, and baking. But that early morning means a 9am opening here.
We walked down from the Holiday Inn Osoyoos to pick up some bread and muffins for our stay and when we arrived at 5 minutes after 9, the place was already packed and getting picked over.The Scorpions’ Rock You Like A Hurricane blasted over the speakers of the cute shop filled with breads, croissants, cinnamon buns, focaccias, and pretty deserts.
The pain au chocolat is as big as your head, the croissants the size of my 7 yr old’s arm. They were massive, delicious, and sold out by 9:15.
