There are two courses at Copper Point Golf Club. The Point is the older course, a traditional length course that will have you bombing it from elevated tee boxes, crossing canyons, and trying to hit isolated greens.
The Ridge is a shorter course, but don’t let that make you think it’s any easier. The course is not an executive length. Just because it is only made up of par 4 and par 3 holes doesn’t mean the holes are any shorter. You will find 400 yd par 4 holes and nearly 200 yd par 3 holes wrapping around the Copper Point Resort.
FACILITIES
Copper Point is a Nike property. As you come up the drive, you’ll be greeted by long posters featuring some of the best Nike golfers like Rory McIlroy and Stephen Ames. Inside, the pro shop features a colourful display of Nike shirts, pants, jackets, shoes, and gear.
The staff are very friendly and helpful. For one of my early rounds, they let me leave my clubs behind the counter overnight so I could walk to the clubhouse from the Copper Point Resort the next morning and not have to drag my bag the full distance. There is a club drop staffed by eager and helpful kids who will clean your clubs and help you load/unload.
The range is natural grass and a bucket of balls is included in your green fee.
SCORECARD
I particularly enjoyed my rounds at Copper Point Golf Club. The fact I aced the 7th hole might have something to do with it, but the service was spectacular, they were accommodating to children on the golf course, and the rounds were challenging but fun.
