In 1984, our family drove across Canada with my grandparents. We did all the big highlights of the country, taking our time weaving from east to west. I’ve gathered scans of the photos from the Alberta portion of the trip and, this summer, I’m retracing many of the steps I took with my parents and grands.

This time, I’m the parent and I’m taking my sons to visit the waterfalls, lakes, prairies, and glaciers I visited as a teen nearly 30 years ago. I’m calling it a vintage summer as I take my boys to the waterfalls, the glaciers, and the mountains of my youth. Check out where we’ve been and what we have left to do:

If you still have room in your busy summer vacation planning, go and dig through an old photo album and see where you went as a kid and then recreate that vintage summer with your kids.
