This miracle muffin contains five powerful aphrodisiacs (ginseng, ginger, chocolate, cinnamon and honey) that are claimed to rev up romance.
Many aphrodisiacs lay claim to the title out of lore than actual chemical evidence. Ginseng root, for example, looks like a naked man – hence it’s popularity. Cinnamon gets the nod because it lowers high blood sugar and if you can control your blood sugar, you’ll have better sex. Ginger was originally brought to Rome by Egyptian traders claiming it as an aphrodisiac. Honey‘s sticky, sweet properties got it the label as the nectar of Aphrodite – the Greek Goddess whose name is the root the word aphrodisiac.
Chocolate is really the only one with scientific proof of immediate potency. A 2004 Italian survey showed women who consumed chocolate daily reported a higher degree of sexual satisfaction. Even women who normally had a lower libido reported an increase in their sex drive after consuming chocolate.
Soooo … placebo or perfect? Spend half an hour in the kitchen and find out for yourself.
